Stephen Wilson’s breathtaking art piece created to commemorate the launch of Madelyn’s Fund is now on display just outside of the NICU at Novant Presbyterian Medical Center. Local artist Stephen Wilson is widely known for his inventive use of fabric; the piece he created for Madelyn’s Fund is especially meaningful, as the main component is the fabric from Madelyn’s nursery.

Since December of 2016 Madelyn’s Fund has provided financial assistance to 74 families, 18 of these funded requests were for funerals.
“We were able to get gas cards which helped us out a lot because we live an hour away from the hospital and we drive there every single day. So it was definitely a weight lifted off our shoulders because now we weren’t so concerned about all of the outside stuff, we could focus a lot more on our son and his well being.”
“Them backing us took a lot of that stress off of me, a lot of it. It’s just great to know they’re there. It really is… it’s very comforting that people are there that can relieve you in times like this and that understand what you’re going through.”

Madelyn’s Fund is excited to introduce their newest Board Member, Nicole Sunday
Nicole Sunday moved to Charlotte in 2003 after graduating from the University of South Carolina. She studied Finance and International Business and proceeded to work in the Insurance and Banking industries. When she and her husband, Kevin, started a family Nicole became interested in learning more about the community service organizations in Charlotte and wanted to get involved. She currently serves on the Junior League’s Second Harvest Food Bank committee, Pat’s Place Child Advocacy Center’s annual fundraiser committee, is a board member of the Foxcroft Hills Swim and Racquet Club and a parent volunteer at Charlotte Latin. This will be the second year Nicole is involved with Madelyn’s Fund. She feels very honored to be involved with such a wonderful cause. As a Mom of two healthy children she feels a duty to help families who are dealing with the most challenging and heartbreaking situations after their babies are born. Nicole and her husband, Kevin, have been married almost nine years and have two children, Arden (7) and Ryan (5).
