By assisting with unexpected expenses, Madelyn’s Fund hopes to not only reduce the impact of the emotional and financial stressors of having a medically fragile baby in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, but also strive to support parents’ confidence in feeling that they know their child best. This support increases the likelihood of success in meeting their child’s developmental and medical needs after discharge home.
No parent should have to experience the pain and devastation of losing an infant. Many NICU families incur the unexpected costs of funeral expenses, but not all of them have the necessary means to fulfill their financial obligations. We believe that every family should be able to properly memorialize their child.
