“We couldn’t do this work without the generous support of our partners, donors, and volunteers, and we’re feeling especially humbled as we take a look back at the first half of 2024.” — Madelyn’s Fund Co-founder, Rachel Lee.
Madelyn’s Fund currently serves families with a child in the NICU at the following hospitals in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Columbia, South Carolina:
- Levine Children’s Hospital at Atrium Health
- Novant Health Presbyterian Hemby Children’s Hospital
- Prisma Health Richland Hospital
- Prisma Health Baptist Hospital
and also serves families of neonates in the Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at Levine Children’s Hospital.
Madelyn’s Fund assists families in two key ways:
1. Everyday Living Expenses: such as transportation costs to and from the hospital, lodging* and meals, and baby supplies, and supplement loss of income by helping families maintain necessary household expenses, such as utilities, while they are unable to work.
2. Funeral Expenses: providing financial support for families who experience the tragedy of infant loss (ages 0-1).
Since Madelyn’s Fund was founded in 2016, they have provided a total of $1.282 million in assistance to local NICU families throughout the Carolinas. These numbers reflect data from all the hospitals they work with and showcase their commitment to supporting NICU families during their most challenging times.
“As we look toward the remainder of 2024 we are grateful for all that we’ve been able to accomplish so far this year and are encouraged that we will continue to make an impact on families facing the challenges a NICU journey can bring.” — Madelyn’s Fund Co-Founder, Rachel Lee.
